A fast and furious thriller for fans of Lee Child, Vince Flynn and Brad Thor.
When a top militia leader escapes from a maximum security American jail, the FBI calls in ex-Delta operator Jon Reznick to help track him down. The escapee is none other than a psychopathic ex-Delta colleague of Reznick, Hunter Cain, who is now a feared militia leader. It isn’t long before they believe that Cain is planning a terrorist spectacular. But the problem is they don’t know what target he has in mind. As the clock ticks down, the team shows increasing strains as they struggle to find Cain, it becomes clear that the secret plot would threaten not only scores of American lives, but also a former US President.

Gone Bad A Jon Reznick Thriller Jon Reznick Series edition by JB Turner Literature Fiction eBooks

Another great read by Turner. Spoiler Alert.

This one starts with Hunter Cain. Cain has escaped from Leavenworth and is enroute to Florida. He's being assisted all the way by people who believe as he does. The escape was an inside job as Leavenworth isn't exactly a place you can break into.

Jon Reznick is in a NY bar speaking with an old Delta Force buddy, Brad Jameson is trying to get Jon to commit to a job in the ME. According the Jameson its a job that is purely advisory and the pay a six figure sum for eighteen months work. Jameson is doing his best to talk Jon into this job.

Jon, after learning more specifics, tells Brad that he will think about it. Jon has a flight he has to catch in the AM at JFK.

Jon and Brad are getting ready to leave the bar when Jon spots two men enter the bar. Dark suits, white shirts and tight knotted ties. He recognizes them immediately. One was speaking into a cellphone, both looking in his direction. Jon is wondering what Meyerstein wants with him now??

So begins another damned fine read by Turner.

This one has Reznick, Meyerstein, Cain, the FBI, Homeland security, a Reznick who operates under his own rules and doesn't give a rats ass what the FBI thinks, a Reznick who knows Cain, a Cain who's an old Delta teammate, a woman who's Cain's girlfriend, death, destruction, murder a target for Cain and his group, an FBI who wants Reznick off the team, a Meyerstein who puts her reputation on the line to keep Jon on her team, a meeting in Florida on an island that no one in the FBI knew about, a Reznick who figure it out, a Meyerstein who's in his corner and always will be and Jon Reznick doing his best to make it there in time, take out the bad guys and save the damned day.

Five Stars once again.

Gone Bad A Jon Reznick Thriller Jon Reznick Series edition by JB Turner Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

This is my first J.B. Turner book. I only finished it because it was short. The writing is terrible and the characters are ridiculous. I would like to think that this book is not the best example of his writing style. I will not be reading any more of his books to make a determination. There are so many great authors writing in this genre. Don't waste your time with this one.
I really liked this book after the first few chapters, which seemed a trifle disjointed. Despite the bumpy start, the book began to grow on me. I started to feel a kinship with characters and knew- I will look forward to curling up with the hero, again and again, and will be gravely disappointed when I've read all in the series. To me? That's 5 ☆ material.
This is one of the worst books I have encountered - and I read 70 to 80 books a year. The author simply has no idea of what he is talking about - dialogue has all characters speaking the same whether they are the assistant director of the FBI or Arian Brotherhood thugs - all using terms no one would use esp. these characters - 'firstly' is used over and over again; and 'whilst' almost as much. Every character "blew out their cheeks" at the drop of a hat - must have used this 20 times. And the term "dammit certain" is used repeatedly by different characters. The author has no concept of how high level officials act, work or speak. Protagonist is built up as brilliant ex Delta Force miracle worker but is not much more than a tough guy who seems to also be clueless. Most brilliant thing he has to say is "we are missing something". FBI is poorly portrayed as inept and bumbling. Portrays the assistant director of the FBI as becoming point on a case that is not even a case yet - more a suspicion. She is personally knocking on doors, running all over FLA chasing hunches. None of the characters are developed at all - cardboard stereotypes. An overall rating of 4.5 once again demonstrates how phony all the 5 stars are. This book (novella) is pure drivel and not even worth the one star I gave it. I CAN'T BELIEVE I READ THE WHOLE THING.
John Resnick, ex-Delta Force, is asked by FBI deputy director Martha Meyerstein to assist in bringing down Hunter Cain (an ex-Delta colleague of Resnick). Cain escaped from Leavenworth Federal Penitentiary with assistance from militia groups and the Aryan Brotherhood to pull off a terrorist attack on unidentified elites. He is tracked to Florida connections and the FBI is seemingly always a step behind. Meyerstein is hard-pressed to keep Resnick on the team since his operational style continually crosses the line and irks other FBI team members. The FBI appears less than sterling in its own operations. Eventually Resnick will get them on track. Harsh language. A quick read, this is a novella. Brit author uses "whilst" often. Book could have used closer editing. Overall though, a better than average story.
Definitely a readable book, but it is missing something. I found myself trying to remember if I had finished reading it.
There is no catharsis at the end, no feeling of completion, it just ...ended.
I did not have any attachment to the characters. I did not care if they went on to a happy life or fell off the edge of the world, which is too bad.
Flawed characters can seem more "real", but they need something to make them likable as well.
JBT has written of a terrorist plot to attack a secret conference being held in Miami. A past Delta Force member escapes from orison to accomplish a mission which would destroy the members of the conference as well as the past President of the United States. The antagonist to this operation is a past member of Delta Force and Grey Fox. This is an excellent read for the genre.....ER
Great storyline, love the characters especially Reznick. At times I felt the story going one way, but you blindsided me with something else totally different. You gave me an exciting rollercoaster ride that I didn't want to end.

Will you possibly give us a continuation of this book, when Reznick goes back to New York and takes the other job?

Thank you!!#
