Cherie Bonnet is the child of a gentleman planter and his placée (mixed race mistress). Diego de Aguilar was a true conquistador; a powerful duke and a captain in the Spanish Armada, and the former son-in-law of the king. From the moment he saw her, Diego had to make Cherie his own. Little did he know what keeping her would mean. Cherie's fiancé, Étienne would move heaven and earth to be with her, even if it meant sharing her with Diego. Together, the three face the worst society has to offer and the dangers of their forbidden love. Diego must learn to let go of his inhibitions and allow love to thrive. Cherie must learn the secrets of her family's past in order to face the future, and make her unusual situation flourish.

My Cherie Amour had a really good ménage storyline that fell flat because of too many errors. There were improper uses of words, rushed storyline in some places and dragged out in others. Mix ups of character descriptions and not enough story to justify the things that happened. I believe Ms. Azod had a knack for coming up with good storylines; they are just not always executed accordingly. She is a hit or miss author for me, but maybe this was one of her earlier works where she good have benefitted from a beta reader, an editor and a friend to tell her the truth about the flow of the story.

There was the beginning of the story that started off well, but then it shifted with time difference, but it wasn’t really clear until more time into it. Then it switched to the trio’s daughter, Cherie and her trials with her two paramours Etienne and the Duque. Like I said, the story had potential but because of all the chaos and confusion with the writing, I couldn’t recommend this story without knowing that it has been edited to make sense. I did read the story in its entirety, because I was interested in seeing how it all played out, which it came out well, but I’ve seen better works from Ms. Azod.

I've edited this to add that the book page says 358 pages, but I didn't read anywhere near that much. It seemed less than a 100 pages, so maybe it was edited, but I'm going by the copy I had which is at least a year old.

I was a little confused by the premise but all and all it wasn't a bad story
I really enjoyed reading this book, it brought to mind not only how to love but how many you can love at the same time. True love sees no color nor do it have boundaries.
I enjoy reading this author's stories. At first it was a little drawn out and took longer than I would have liked to get to the main character's story. Digital author's really need to work on double checking for grammatical errors...Please proof read your work.
This is an EROTIC STORY with adult themes ménage multiple penetration and more! Yet it is NOT JUST SEX! There is an involved love story. This is a good author that has other stories most IR, with various levels of adult content.
This is literally the pre-equal to the Chevaliers storyline that Shara writes so well, You will see familiar names.. Pasqual ,Theirry ,
Cheri *s* And the heat level is off the Chart! This book is a must have for Fans of Shara Azod, and a definite read for Fans of the Chevalier story. It has it all drama, love, and Alpha Males who will make you swoon ..lol yes I said swoon And to quote Blanche Deverauex.. Women in the south mature faster ... because of the heat !
I enjoyed reading this book even though it is different from any book I've read to date. It explores the complex relationship in New Orleans and elsewhere due to race, and what is tolerated.

The relationship between Amelie, Luc and Claude produced five children including Cherie. It further explored her relationship with Diego and Etienne.

The story had a lot of errors and needed to be edited but overall was a good story.
First of all I would like to say that this is the second book I read by Shara Azod. I was hoping this book would not have as many errors in grammar as the other one. Boy was I wrong but the book looked to be promising despite the fact that I realized the men in the story were not just in love with the woman but each other. If I would have realized the love scenes would include man on man action I would have not even bothered to buy. My main problem was the story line for the parents was almost the same for Cherie, except Cherie's story was more detailed. Two men (Claud and Luc)(Etienne and Diego)fall in love with a beautiful woman (Amerie and Cherie), then each other, one of the men is forced to marry a racist and loony (agatha and Maria), they can't give the men a child then these women try to get rid of the beautiful women, and then the men who fall in love with Amerie(Claud and Luc) and Cherie(Etienne and Diego) live happily ever after in a manage. Maybe not in the same order but these are the basics to what happen. The book was a little interesting bc of Agatha and the problems they faced bc of who the men/women were (race and titles). I did enjoyed the bits of French, Spanish, details of rules regarding race, and insight of that time. I know that the story takes place during slavery and when the Spanards had control over Florida but the author never sets an exact date, which is fine bc this is fiction. SOME of the love scenes were pretty good in explicit details but some I could not read. If you like reading a homosexual love scene that involves a woman then this is for you but I'm not into reading that. I read another book by Shara Azod and loved it except for the errors, which do make the book hard to read. I expected better but was sorely dissappointed! I was torn between I hate it and I don't like it but overall I hated it!
